Description

Stephanie Heuer was inspired to create the Somebody/Nobody books (now Dignity Rocks) after meeting and reading the work of Dr. Robert Fuller (author of , All Rise, The Politics of Dignity). Through his insights, inspiration, and dedication to the somebody/nobody concept, Stephanie created a book that is applicable for opening up discussions of dignity, self-respect, and other sometimes difficult topics to express for children. It gives children a safe and healthy voice to express their world, their conflicts, and how they interact with those around them.

This book is written by kids for kids. Students from many classes at different schools were asked to complete the following statements:

  • I Feel like nobody when…
  • I Feel like somebody when…

The responses you read in this book are what the kids had to say about that feeling we get when we are not included, alienated, bullied, not listened too, or simply ignored. It also says allot about how complete and great we feel when people recognize our efforts, listen to our stories, and show their concern for our well being.

This book is for everyone, old, young, teachers, parents, kids, friends, everyone. Make your own Somebody/Nobody book and let us know how it opens up discussions on dignity in your world.

Dignity matters! Dignity counts, in all of us. Our organization Dignity Rocks! is dedicated to the preservation, promotion, and protection of everyone’s dignity, and we mean everyone!
